Video Size Calculator
File size for any length, resolution, and bitrate — before you commit to the export.
Estimated file size
How it's computed: file size = (video Mbps + audio kbps / 1000) × length in seconds ÷ 8. Suggested bitrates are YouTube's recommended SDR upload bitrates.

Questions
Does YouTube limit upload file size?
Verified accounts can upload up to 256 GB or 12 hours. The calculator matters less for limits than for knowing how long an upload will take on your connection.
Why is my real export bigger than the estimate?
Bitrate is an average — encoders overshoot on complex frames, so a VBR export lands above the arithmetic figure. Treat the estimate as the target, not a guarantee.
Does YouTube keep my uploaded file as-is?
No — every upload is re-encoded before it is served. The file you send is a source; a clean, generous-bitrate source survives that re-encode better.
