Terms of Service

Last updated October 9, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and TranscriptLab, Inc. about your use of transcriptlab.dev, the TranscriptLab API, and the TranscriptLab plugin in ChatGPT. By using the service, you accept them.

The service

TranscriptLab retrieves captions for YouTube videos and transcribes audio and video you supply. Transcription is automated, so output can contain errors, especially with poor audio, overlapping speech, or unusual terminology. Check anything you intend to rely on.

Your account

You sign in through our authentication provider. Keep access to that account secure, and tell us if you believe it has been compromised. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Your content and permissions

You keep all rights to the media you submit and to the transcripts we produce for you. We claim no ownership of them; we store and process them only to provide the service.

You must have the right to submit what you send us. Do not upload media you do not have permission to transcribe, and do not use the service to break the terms or technical measures of any platform you take content from.

Acceptable use

  • Do not use the service for unlawful purposes or to infringe anyone's rights.
  • Do not attempt to bypass rate limits, plan limits, or authentication.
  • Do not resell or rebrand the service without a written agreement with us.
  • Do not use it to build a competing transcript dataset from other people's content.

Plans, credits, and payment

Paid plans and credit packs are sold through our payment processor, which acts as merchant of record and handles billing. Prices and the credits included in each plan are shown before you buy.

Credits are consumed when a transcript is delivered for the first time. Caption discovery, searching transcripts already delivered, job status, and usage checks do not consume transcript credits unless a page states otherwise.

Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service, and we may set limits to protect it. We aim for reliable operation but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, since the service depends on third-party platforms and providers.

Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are broken or if the service is used in a way that risks harm to us, to other users, or to third parties.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided as is, without warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded by law. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which TranscriptLab, Inc. is incorporated, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
