Questions

Where do I find average view duration?

YouTube Studio → Analytics → Engagement. The calculator needs views, video length, and average view duration from there.

How is watch time different from average view duration?

Average view duration is per-view seconds; watch time multiplies it across every view. One long session and many short ones can produce the same total hours.

Why show the percentage watched too?

Retention feeds recommendations more than raw views do. Two videos with equal watch hours but different retention perform differently, so the calculator shows both figures.
