Questions
Do all watch hours count toward monetization?
Only public, long-form watch time in the last 365 days counts toward the 4,000-hour bar. Shorts views and private/unlisted viewing do not.
Is the 365-day window a calendar year?
No — it is a rolling window. Each day the oldest day drops out of the count, so holding 4,000 hours takes ongoing public watch time, not a one-time push.
Do Shorts views add to the total?
No — Shorts qualify through a separate path: 10M Shorts views in 90 days. Only public long-form watch time feeds the 4,000-hour figure.
